Middle St. Vrain/Coney Flats (9/16/17)

Patrol 14 had a great day at Middle St. Vrain and Coney Flats. We met in Nederland and then headed for the trail head. Bill and Cheryl, Harold, Gary and Trudy, Daryl and RoxeAn, and Sam and Elaine were able to make the trail run. We aired down at the parking lot before the entrance to the trail.

Shortly after we started up the trail, we reflected on how it appears to have become more rocky over the years since some had run it before. Overall, the increased challenge made the trail a lot of fun.

Before we crossed the creek, we stopped for lunch. It was really windy, but we were able to find an area in the trees, somewhat hidden from the wind, for Gary to fire up the grill and make some awesome lunch. We had a great time of throwing a football around, eating some food and catching up.

After lunch we fought the wind back to the Jeeps, packed out and headed across the creek. Also at this point, we met up with Patrol 8.

We had a great time on the run, and the weather was really good overall. This was a great picture of Patrol 8 and 14 lined up.
