Yankee Boy Hill 3-13-13

With some fresh snow on the hills, and a day of vacation to waste, it was time to go bash some snow. Ryan, Morgan, and Frank met up in Central City and decided to run Yankee Boy Hill. The trail was pretty mellow at first and didn't have a ton of snow, only about 4-6'' or so, but under the fresh stuff was a layer of slick ice. Made things a little interesting on the up hill climbs.

The weather was pretty warm, so it was a great day to be out. We stopped for lunch and then decided to hit a few spurs as we reached closer to the top of Yankee Boy. Although we had come across a couple large drifts, we were pretty certain we would make it to the top. Boy did that thought change in a hurry! As we continued into the trees and up the hill, the snow got deeper and deeper, eventually swallowing Ryan's Jeep.

Morgan past Ryan and only made it only half mile or so and decided it was time to turn around and head back.

We made our way back and found a nice spot for the patrol famous... "Flex for the Bitches" pose!

We took a little different way out and ended up on Fall River Road into Idaho Springs. Another great day of wheeling!!
